Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about HeadlineLingo, translations, and how to get the most out of our platform.

How often are news headlines updated?

We fetch the top 3 US news headlines daily. Headlines are cached for 12 hours to ensure you get fresh, relevant content while minimizing unnecessary API calls.

Are the translations accurate?

Yes! We use advanced AI technology (xAI Grok-3) that understands context, idioms, and cultural nuances. While no machine translation is perfect, our system provides highly accurate, natural-sounding translations along with detailed grammar explanations.

Do I need to create an account?

No account is required to translate headlines! Simply visit the homepage, select your target language, and start translating. Account creation will be available in the future for saving vocabulary and tracking progress.

What languages do you support?

We currently support 12 languages: Latin, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Korean, and Hindi. More languages may be added based on user demand.

Why do some headlines show a 📦 icon?

The 📦 icon indicates that the translation was retrieved from our cache. This means someone has already translated this headline into that language, allowing us to show you instant results without calling the AI again.

Can I translate to English?

No, all headlines start in English (from US news sources), so translating back to English wouldn't be useful for learning. Our goal is to help you learn other languages from English.

What is the grammar breakdown?

The grammar breakdown provides a detailed analysis of the translated headline, including key vocabulary definitions, grammatical structures, notable linguistic features, and cultural context. It's designed to help you understand not just what the translation says, but why it's structured that way.

Why can't I see translations immediately?

To conserve resources and respect API rate limits, translations are only generated when you click the 'Translate This Article' button. Once translated, the result is cached permanently so future users see instant results.

Can I collapse article cards?

Yes! Each article card has a collapse button (â–²/â–¼) in the top-right corner. This lets you focus on specific articles and reduce visual clutter on the page.

What happens when I change languages?

When you select a different language from the dropdown, all currently displayed translations are cleared. This ensures you're always looking at translations in your selected target language. Simply click 'Translate This Article' again to see the new translation.

Is this service free?

Yes! HeadlineLingo is completely free to use. We cache translations to minimize costs while providing you with quality language learning content.

Can I save vocabulary words?

Vocabulary saving functionality will be available in a future update. You'll be able to save individual words and phrases from grammar breakdowns to your personal library for later review.

Why learn from news headlines?

News headlines are excellent for language learning because they're concise, use authentic native language, stay current and relevant, cover diverse topics, and repeat common grammatical patterns. They provide real-world context that textbooks often lack.

What if I find an error in a translation?

While our AI provides high-quality translations, no system is perfect. If you notice an error or have feedback, please contact us at info@aisuretech.com.

Can I request a new language?

Yes! We're always considering adding new languages based on user interest. Send your requests to info@aisuretech.com.
